Amazon, eBay, and T-Mobile offer new trade-in programs 5/11
T-Mobile USA, Inc. has introduced a retail Trade-In program, aimed at giving customers a cost-effective way to purchase a new phone and upgrade. Through the Trade-In program, you can offset the cost of a new phone purchase by up to $300 with the trade in of your old device.
Even devices from other wireless carriers are eligible as long as they meet the minimum criteria, i.e., being fully functional, having an intact and working display, and being free of liquid damage or corrosion.
You can take advantage of the Trade-In program at any T-Mobile retail store. Beforehand, be sure to check the estimated value of your old phone and learn more about the program.
Amazon has a new program that will let you trade in your old electronics in exchange for an Amazon credit.
A fourth generation iPod touch will get you up to $106 in credit, while a 16GB Archos 43 Android tablet will fetch $60 in trade-in value. The company is taking in old cameras and GPS devices too. Kindles, Nooks and iPads are not included in this service.
eBay launched a similar program for iPhones, in which the auction site began buying used iPhones in exchange for cash.
