Green online deals: best shopping sites 2/12

Some of the best shopping web sites make it easy to go green and save.
Here below are some of the coolest sites discovered by the editors of ShopSmart magazine.
Blissmobox.com – membership service to order organic foods & personal care products. Members get their choice of box each month, and selection varies based on themes & seasons.
Freecycle.org - grassroots, nonprofit, free membership group for people who are giving and getting stuff for free to reuse it and keep it out of landfills.
LocalHarvest.org – go there to find a farmer’s market near you; check out online stores; shop the catalog for items you can’t find near you; local food/farm events;.
PureCitizen.com – daily flash sales from socially conscious companies for eco-friendly items that are fair trade, organic, and/or vegan. Examples of products include vegan handbags, Kigo shoes, and organic sweaters.
Swap.com – trade stuff you have for stuff you want (even Groupons!)
Thredup.com – sell what your kids have outgrown; buy others’ stuff at low prices. share children's clothes, toys and books online.
Remember to do some comparison shopping online before you jump on the deals. There are web apps that provide price comparisons. The two most widely used apps are GetInvisibleHand.com ( works with Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Safari) and PriceBlink.com (for Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari).
