Did you know?

You can buy a computer made with relatively fewer toxins.

Some computer manufacturers will recycle their products for free.

Only one television manufacturer offers a recycling program in the U.S.

E-market watch

Find out which electronics manufacturers sell greener products and have recycling programs. While most computer manufacturers offer greener - EPEAT-qualified - machines, only a handful meet the most stringent "gold" requirements. When it comes to recycling, nearly all computer companies have a program, but only a few are free. Television manufacturers, on the other hand, are lagging behind altogether, and only one company currently offers any type of recycling program in the U.S. (Note that the EPEAT program doesn't yet apply to televisions.)

Computers: In the table below, compare manufacturer recycling programs and find out which companies offer greener, EPEAT-qualified, computers. For detailed recycling information, click on the checkmark. For information on available EPEAT-qualified computers, click on the number. Note that only one retailer, Buy.com, identifies EPEAT-qualified computers at this time.
