Prohibits animal byproducts in the diet

Many ingredients are legally permitted and used in chicken feed, including the byproducts of slaughtered animals. This includes meat and bone meal, poultry by-product meal, blood meal and feather meal. Even animal waste, including dried manure and litter, can be "recycled" into animal feed. Reusing animal byproducts in animal feed increases the likelihood that unwanted chemicals, pesticides, animal drugs and even human food-borne pathogens will appear in the feed.
